Christmas Food and Toy Drive
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The calendar tells us that it is time again for the Christmas Food and Toy Drive so we may provide a wonderful Christmas to our clients here at Presbyterian Urban Ministries (PUM). We hope that you will join us in this cooperative effort by participating in this food, toy and gift card drive. This year PUM has decided to try something new. We have found that VONS will magnetically encode our gift cards to disallow purchases of tobacco and alcohol when we purchase them through their corporate program. Therefore, we are going to suggest that if gift cards have not already been purchased, that funds be sent to PUM for this specific purpose. Should you rather purchase the gift cards and deliver them to PUM they will of course, be very graciously received. Our goal this year is to raise $4,000 for gift cards for the 200 plus Family Christmas food bags that will be distributed this year. Please feel free to use our secure checkout to donate to this cause, or simply drop a check in the mail designating that these funds are for the gift cards!
Toy Drive: This year PUM is once again a distribution site for Toys 4 Tots; however, we also have a program for those families that are not eligible for this program - We call it the PUM Toys for Families in Need. Currently we have signed up over 450 children for Toys 4 Tots and have an additional 250 children ages newborn to 16 that are in need. Please consider this as you do your Christmas shopping and please prayerfully consider if you too might be able to help out some of these less fortunate families.
